William Shakespeare wrote the phrase, "What's in a name?" We chose the name Aspen because we wanted to model our organization after a stunning grove of aspen trees living in harmony with its surroundings. Aspens are tough and resilient. The trees propagate by roots and one seedling can quickly grow into an interconnected colony of hundreds of trees covering several acres. Interestingly, each tree in the colony will then exhibit synchronous behavior such as coming into leaf or changing color at the same time.
