Aspen Advisors principal Guy Scalzi is part of an elite panel of international judges selected for New Zealand’s “The Focus on Health Challenge”. The purpose of this international competition is to introduce New Zealand’s most innovative and commercially viable health solutions into the US healthcare system. Judges selected finalists ranging from software solutions to medical devices and wound care therapies.

As many U.S. hospitals accelerate their plans for electronic medical records in response to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act’s incentive programs for meaningful use, a handful of state-of-the-art hospitals are opening up in places that don’t generally get a lot of attention for innovation. Information Week highlights one such hospital, Aspen Advisors’ client Bokamoso Private Hospital, a 200-bed world class hospital in Botswana, that opened in January with electronic medical records, computerized physician order entry.
